MACRO TUTORIAL??
#1
I used to be good at Basic programming when it was all by line numbers. I'm having trouble figuring out how to program macros in this language. The manuals that came with DC 6.0 aren't good as a tutorial for macros. There has to be a better way to learn this. Is there a good tutorial anywhere?

cheez,

Welcome to the forum.

I don't do anything with macros myself, but a member here seems to have a lot of experience with them.

mysundial Try to send him a private message.

Here is a link to his website which may help you further.

Thanks, I sent him an e-mail. Hopefully he'll come up with something. I'm trying to draw ellipses for holes in isometric views. The most accurate way is to layout a parellelogram based off the tangents of the major and minor axis. If you try to draw it from center, you cant get the hieght and width to come out right. The macro command only deals with the method of drawing from center. I'll need to make a routine that will find the right hieght and width, while making sure the diameter of the hole appears correctly.

Hi Cheez,

valhrist, another member who seems to be quite knowledgeable in macro writing, may be of some help as well. His website is here:

I don't see him visit our site too often so it would probably be best to contact him via email through his web site. He also has many macros available for download on his site.

Good luck with your project and welcome to the forums.
